It was a memorable series between the Los Angeles Dodgers and Houston Astros this week. First, Astros All-Star shortstop Carlos Correa of Ponce, Puerto Rico had a season ending ankle injury when he heard his ankle pop while hitting in the batting cage. Then on Wednesday, Dodgers outfielder Andy Pages of La Habana, Cuba became the second Major League Baseball player this season to hit three home runs in a game in a 12-2 Dodgers win over the Astros at Dalkin Park in Houston, Texas.
Pages’s first home run was a three-run home run in the top of the third inning. It scored Freddie Freeman and Kyle Tucker, and put the Astros up 6-1. Pages then hit a two-run home run in the top of the fifth inning which scored Max Muncy, and put the Dodgers up 9-1. Pages then belted his third home run of the game to lead off the ninth inning, and close out the scoring.
Pages hit a home run off of three different Astros pitchers. The first was 393 feet off of Astros starting pitcher Lance McCullers Jr. The second was 370 feet off of Astros reliever Jason Alexander. The third was 363 feet off of Astros reliever Cesar Salazar.
The first player to hit three home runs in a game this season was also a Dodger. Max Muncy of Midland, Texas accomplished the feat in an 8-7 Dodgers win over the Texas Rangers on April 10.
So far in 2026, Pages is batting .336 with eight home runs and a Major League high 33 runs batted in. During 37 games, 149 plate appearances, and 137 at bats, he has scored 22 runs and had 46 hits, eight doubles, six stolen bases, nine walks, 78 total bases, two sacrifice flies, an on base percentage of .376 and a slugging percentage of .569. The sacrifice flies came in a 7-1 Dodgers win over the Colorado Rockies on April 17 and in a 6-0 Dodgers win over the Chicago Cubs on April 26.
With the win, the Dodgers improved to a record of 23 wins and 14 losses. They are in first place in the National League West and lead the San Diego Padres by half a game.
